At yesterday’s celebration of the 10^th Vietnamese Businesses’ Day (13 October), the Chairman of Da Nang People’s Committee, Mr Van Huu Chien, remarked that the city has seen a significant rise in the number of private businesses and their total capital over the past 10 years.

Chairman Chien said that private businesses have made a major contribution to the city’s revenue over the past decade, and the local business community has played a vital role in accelerating the city’s progress.

There are over 15,000 businesses operating in the city, with a total registered capital of over 71 trillion VND.  In 2013, tax payments from local businesses hit over 7.1 trillion VND, a 4-fold increase compared with 2004, and an average growth of 16.2% year-on-year.
