According to the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade, the city earned an estimated 824.5 million USD from exports between January and September, an increase of 10.9% compared with the same period last year and fulfilling 71.4% of this year’s target.

In particular, the textiles and garments industry’s export revenue jumped by 14.6% to their highest level ever recorded at 200.6 million USD.  Most notably, the Hoa Tho Textiles and Garments Company took the lead in exports with 98.15 million USD, up 21.4% against the same period last year.  Meanwhile, the remaining textiles and garments companies operating in the city surpassed 71% of their year’s export targets.

All these positive results have been mainly attributed to the efforts made by the local textiles and garments companies to invest in technological innovations, as well as developing new products in order to create higher added values.  Amongst their new products are suits from the Hoa Tho and 29 March textiles and garments companies.

During the 9-month period, FDI textile and garments companies also recorded a reasonable growth which contributed significantly to promoting the development of the local textiles and garments industry.  The Dacotex Garment Export Joint Venture Company is a typical example.  Over the past 9 months, the company earned more than 5 million USD from exports, a 12% rise year on year.

The total export turnover of the city’s industry and trade sector is likely to hit over 1.15 billion USD by the end of this year, and that of the textile and garments industry will make up about 25% of that total.

Thanks to the remarkable growth and the great efforts made by the local textile and garments companies, the sector is expected to reach its target this year.
