Customs tax collection up by 24.8%

According to the Da Nang Customs Department, as of 12 November the city’s total customs tax collection had reached over 2.2 trillion VND, up 24.8% against the same period last year and already exceeding this year’s estimates by 0.51%.
The rise has been mainly attributed to the removal of the grace period on import duty payments in accordance with the revised Vietnamese Tax Management Law, and the implementation of customs tax declaration forms prior to customs clearance. This has helped to ensure the efficiency of tax collecting for the State budget.
According to the Department, 31.1% of the total tax collected was from petrol and fuel-importing activities, totalling over 701 billion VND by 10 November.
