Since the beginning of this year, many businesses in Lien Chieu District have become involved in developing healthy workplace initiatives, namely the “Green, Clean and Beautiful Sunday” and the “Green, Clean and Beautiful Businesses” programmes.  Initiated by the district’s Labour Union, these initiatives aim to encourage local businesses to ensure safe and clean working environments. 

So far this year, 15 businesses in the district have made commitments to effectively implement the “Green, Clean and Beautiful Businesses” programme.  All of the district’s businesses whose production activities might cause environmental pollution are expected to take the pledge to join by the end of this year.  Many local business owners realise that the initiative is an effective way to advertise their image as well as encourage them to uphold their sense of corporate social responsibility.
