Night market to open on eastern bank of Han River
Following recent approval by the Da Nang People’s Committee, the DHTC Da Nang Co Ltd will open a night market on the eastern bank of the Han River in the near future. The purpose is to develop a special new tourism product in the city, as well as to create a new attractive destination in the inner city. This will contribute to better advertising the Vietnamese culture and cuisine to local residents and visitors through the market’s various activities.
Covering an area of 12,000m2 , the market will have over 200 stalls selling goods with 2 drinking and eating areas. The architectural design will feature the shape of 9 ships facing the Han River, and the stalls will be open from 6.00pm to 12.00 midnight every day.

During Tuesday’s meeting, the Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, Mr Phung Tan Viet, officially approved the architectural design of the market which had been presented by the DHTC Da Nang Co Ltd. He also asked the project’s developer to ensure security at the market as well as a consistency between the market’s architectural characteristics and its surrounding area. Vice Chairman Viet also stressed the need to ensure the quality of goods and services at the market, civilised trading activities, environmental sanitation, and the effective management of garbage and wastewater. Special attention should be paid to building public toilets nearby as well as creating a vehicle parking area and a pedestrian promenade.
