A seminar entitled “The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Agreement - Its Impact on Viet Nam’s Economy” took place in Da Nang on Thursday.  The event was co-organised by the municipal Union of Science and Technology Associations and the city’s branch of the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

During the event, participants were introduced to the significance of the TPP Agreement, as well as the benefits for Viet Nam’s economy once it is signed.  In particular, the majority of the tariffs between TPP’s member nations will be removed.  The TPP Agreement, however, is also expected to bring challenges to Vietnamese businesses.  Therefore, domestic businesses should study carefully the articles in the agreement in order to take initiatives to develop suitable strategies to boost their production activities.
