Many streets to be upgraded for APEC 2017
In preparation for the 25th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit which will take place in Da Nang in October 2017, many of the city’s streets will be upgraded following recent approval by the municipal People's Committee.
The streets are Nguyen Van Linh, Vo Van Kiet, Hoang Sa, Vo Nguyen Giap, Truong Sa, Ngo Quyen, Le Van Hien, Cach Mang Thang Tam, 2 September, Bach Dang, Tran Phu, Nguyen Tri Phuong, Nguyen Huu Tho, Duy Tan, Nguyen Van Thoai, Thang Long, Tien Son, Ho Xuan Huong, Tran Hung Dao, Nguyen Tat Thanh, Truong Trinh, Ton Duc Thang, Nguyen Luong Bang, Le Duan, Nguyen Chi Thanh, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Dong Da, Trieu Nu Vuong, Nguyen Du, Ham Nghi, Le Dinh Ly, Ngo Gia Tu and Nguyen Cong Tru.

The total length of these streets is 105.6km. In detail, there is 94.4 km of routes connecting the city with other localities nationwide and 11.2 km of internal roads creating links between areas within in the city.
The total cost of the improvement work will be about 212 billion VND. Of this, 132.9 billion VND will come from the central government’s budget, over 73.9 billion VND will be from the city’s budget, and the remainder will be donated by local organisations and individuals.
The city’s Rural Transportation Project Management Unit will be responsible for monitoring the upgrades and working closely with other local relevant agencies to effectively implement the work.
