VietJet Air doubles revenue in the first 6 months
The VietJet Aviation Joint Stock Company (VietJet Air) earned 5.7 trillion VND (256.5 million USD) in revenue during the first half this year, up 205% from the same period last year.
The figures were released by the low-cost carrier at a conference reviewing its 6-month operations on August 16 in Ho Chi Minh City.
During the reviewed period, the airline transported more than 4 million passengers, significantly contributing to the record 26% increase in domestic aviation transportation compared with the same period last year.
The carrier is currently operating a fleet of 26 Airbus A320 and A321 jets on 33 domestic and international routes to Thailand, Cambodia, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and China.
On the occasion, VietJet was also awarded with the International Aviation Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certificate, representing the carrier’s highest commitment to service quality in line with strict safety standards set by the IATA.
