FDI inflow to Viet Nam rises over 30% y-o-y in Jan-Aug: statistics
Newly registered and additional foreign direct investment (FDI) channeled into Viet Nam in the first 8 months of this year saw a 30.4% year-on-year rise, reaching over US$13.33 billion.
During the 8-month period, disbursed FDI capital hit $8.5 billion, up 7.6% over the same period of 2014.
Viet Nam licensed 1,219 new projects with a total registered capital of $7.87 billion in the January-August period, up 8.7% year on year.

In addition, the investors of 389 operational projects registered to increase their capital, with newly added funds of $5.46 billion, up 82.8% over the same period in 2014.
Processing-manufacturing continued to take the lead among 17 sectors with $10.35 billion, accounting for 77.7% of the newly registered and additional FDI capital channeled into Viet Nam in January-August.
Among the foreign partners from 55 countries and territories having investment projects in Viet Nam, South Korea led with a newly registered and additional capital of $5.26 billion, representing 39.5% of the total.
Bac Ninh Province became the most attractive magnet for FDI with $3.33 billion in funds, making up 25% of the total amount.
