On Wednesday morning, the family of Mr Le Van Nhan from Son Tra District’s Nai Hien Dong Ward launched the wooden-hulled fishing boat DNa 90719 TS after over 3 months of building.

This was the first fishing boat in Da Nang to be built under Government Decree No 67/2014/ND-CP regarding fisheries development policies which allow Vietnamese fishermen to access loans for building new boats.

The 829 CV, over 23m long, 6.3m wide and 3.3m high ship was built at a cost of over 10 billion VND.

Mr Nhan’s son, 33-year-old Le Van Quanh is the captain of the new boat.  Quanh said that the boat will operate in the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa waters catching ocean tuna, mackerel and large salmon by drag netting.
