Work starts on 2nd stage of specialised fashion shopping area
Work recently started on the 2nd stage of the specialised shopping area project along a section of Le Duan Street, between its intersection with Ong Ich Khiem Street and the Cai Lang T-junction.
Monitored by the city’s Rural Transportation Project Management Unit, the project is being implemented at a cost of 31.4 billion VND from the city’s budget. The 850m-long, 15m-wide section, which has pavements of between 4.15m and 4.5m in width, is home to 246 businesses and shops, 100 of which are involved in selling fashion items.
The upgrading of the section’s existing pavements |
The improvement work involves building a 3cm-thick asphalt concrete layer on the road surface, decreasing the height of the pavement kerbs to 15cm, replacing the existing pavement tiles along the section with pre-cast terrazzo ones to give high aesthetic value, and upgrading the existing manholes.
In addition, the current trees will be replaced with Madagascar almonds of between 3.5m and 4m high, and the planted areas will be covered by tops made of fibre-reinforced plastic, a composite material with a high aesthetic value. 17 public benches made from natural white marble will also be positioned along the section.
Moving the power cables underground along the section is also underway at a cost of nearly 31 billion VND from loans offered by the city’s Investment and Development Fund and the Da Nang Power Company’s capital.
In detail, nearly 2km of medium voltage and over 4km of low voltage power cables are being moved underground, and 9 electricity substations are being installed.
This 2nd stage of the specialised shopping area project is scheduled to be completed by later this year.
