During this period, the Public Service Information Centre received a total of 2,012 complaints and opinions from local residents through the city’s free hotline on (0511) 1022.  As a result, 1,996 of them were handled.

The municipal Department of Information and Communications provided 16 training courses on e-government for 1,195 government employees on the city’s Online Training Port.  The Software Park No 1 under the management of the Department operated effectively.

As for the rest of the year, the Department will focus on accelerating the administrative reforms, promoting the IT applications in new online public services, and ensuring the smooth operation of the e-government system.  Importance will be attached to ensuring information security and replacing overhead telecommunications cables with underground ones.

Special attention will be paid to ensuring smooth communications during the forthcoming 5th Asian Beach Games, and making the information infrastructure ready for the 2017 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.

Municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung highlighted the significance of developing the IT sector as a local spearhead economic one.  The emphasis should be on improving IT infrastructure and appealing for more domestic and foreign investments in the Software Park No 2 and the dedicated IT Industrial Park.

The city leader stressed the need for relevant agencies to replace cumbersome base transceiver stations (BTS) with environmentally-friendly ones, and upgrade 2 digital broadcasting stations in Hoa Vang District.
