Chairman Tho remarked that Japan is considered one of the city’s most important foreign investors in such aspects as hi-tech, information technology and support industries.  He vowed that the local authorities would create very favourable conditions for Japanese businesses to operate effectively in the city.

The General Manager of Tokyo Keiki Precision Technology, Mr Nobuo Kamioka, highlighted the city’s favourable investment environment, its convenient transportation system, preferential policies for foreign investors, and reasonable labour costs.  He said he would like the city leaders to issue even more incentives for the local support industry to further its development.  The focus should be on developing a raw material supply chain in the locality for this industry to reduce production costs and enhance its competitiveness.

Mr Niwa Dai, General Director of the Niwa Foundry Da Nang, praised the Management Board of the Hi-tech Industrial Park for their great efforts in helping FDI businesses have their difficulties dealt with promptly.  He noted that next year his company plans to expand its production capacity and assist other Japanese businesses who wish to learn about the city’s investment climate.

During his meeting on the same day with representatives from the Da Nang branch of the Heineken Vietnam Brewery, Chairman Tho praised the company for its significant achievements in their business and community activities, as well as its large tax contribution to the city’s budget, over recent years.

In reply, Mr Tran Minh Triet, the company’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer, thanked the city leader for his care.  He said that the Viet Nam Brewery Ltd Company (VBL) officially changed its name to Heineken Vietnam Brewery on 1 August.  Since the start of this year, the company contributed around 2,200 billion VND to the city’s budget.  He pledged that his company’s leaders would excert even more efforts to promote the city’s socio-economic development.

Also on the same day, a ceremony took place in the city to honour 42 local outstanding businesses in recognition of their active involvement in improving the living conditions of their employees.

Speaking at the event, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung remarked that employees are the most important asset of any enterprise, and its success or failure depends on their qualifications and performance.  He added that over recent years many local businesses have organised practical and meaningful actions to treat their employees with respect.
