Mr Le Anh, Chairman of the Hai Chau District People’s Committee (PC) and the district’s Business Association, said that recent years have seen a significant increase in the number of the association members to around 500 from 150.  The district authorities have established the Hai Chau Investors’ Council in Ho Chi Minh City.

Chairman Anh remarked, “The district’s business community has contributed over 450 billion VND to the city budget this year, a rise of 21% against last year’s figure.  Also, 2,770 local businesses have paid social insurance for their 162,000 employees, an increase of 19,000 people compared with the same period last year.  The local business community has been actively involved in creating jobs for local residents and in numerous social welfare activities.

Mr Phan Hai, Chairman of the Da Nang Young Entrepreneurs' Association and General Director of the BQ Shoe company, underlined that businesspeople have to make every effort to overcome their difficulties in a fierce competitive environment if they want to become successful.  In addition to their own benefits, they should show a responsibility for their social community, and the general progress of their city and the country as a whole.

Mr Hai said, “Over the past 10 years, the association has annually created job opportunities for around 40,000 people and earned nearly 30,000 billion VND in revenue.  It has also contributed to about 300 billion VND to the city budget every year.”

Mrs Pham Thi Minh Trang, Chairwoman of the city’s Female Entrepreneurs' Association and General Director of the Danameco Medical company, noted that her association has around 200 members.  Thanks to their great efforts, the association has created jobs for more than 10,000 local people, and spent billions of VND on charitable activities across the city.
