The results have been mainly attributed to the great efforts made by the district authorities to advertise local tourism images and its attractive tours for visitors from both home and abroad.
The Head of the district's Culture and Information Office, Mr Tran Van Sinh, remarked “The district is giving top priority to developing cultural and spiritual tourism programmes. The focus is on offering more attractive tours to such attractions as the Marble Mountains Tourist Area, the Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village, and the Buddhist Cultural Museum”.
Mr Le Quang Tuoi, Head of the Management Board of the Marble Mountains Tourist Area, proudly said “Between January and September, the site welcomed 988,000 visitors, including 425,000 foreigners, which is 38% up on the same period last year. Most notably, during the recent 5th Asian Beach Games, over 1,000 tourists visited the venue, including ABG5 domestic and foreign athletes and coaches”.
Mr Tuoi added, “The district has made great efforts to ensure local security, environmental sanitation, and firefighting and fire prevention to ensure the safety of visitors. Also, the focus has been on controlling food safety and hygiene, promoting civilised trading activities amongst local traders, and dealing with illegal street vendors. Thanks to these measures, the image of the district’s tourism, and that of the city as a whole, has left a good impression on domestic and foreign visitors”.
Mr Nguyen Hoa, Vice Chairman of the Ngu Hanh Son districts, said that the district is making great efforts to take advantage of the 25th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, which will take place in the city in October 2017, to advertise local tourism images to even more international friends.
The focus is now on ensuring a secure and civilised tourism environment, as well as enhancing the quality of tourism services for visitors. Importance is being attached to implementing the 1st phase of the city’s project to organise night tours to Thuy Son (the Mountain of Water) in the Marble Mountains Tourist Area.
In addition, walking streets are being developed and night drinking and eating areas will be created as soon as possible to meet the diversified demands of visitors and encourage them to extend their stay in the city.
Greater effort will be made to plant more trees, to develop more internal roads, and to install more lighting systems at the district’s tourist attractions to ensure the aesthetics of the local tourism landscape.
