Themed 'Ha Noi - Destination of Viet Nam', the VITM 2017 is expected to feature 600 enterprises and tourism management and promotion agencies from 43 of Viet Nam’s cities and provinces and 25 countries and territories. The fair hopes to attract some 60,000 visitors.
In addition to activities aiming to promote destination presentation and tourism stimulation from local exhibitors, the VITM also features contests, traditional arts performances, conferences and workshops.
Organised the first time in 2013, this year’s event is the 5th edition and considered Viet Nam’s premier tourism event and one of the largest travel shows in the region.
Last year, the country welcomed more than 10 million international arrivals, up 26% year-on-year, according to the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).
With a population of 92 million and rapid expansion in the number of middle-class families, the demand for outbound travel has increased dramatically. In 2016, there were more than 6.5 million Vietnamese people travelling overseas, an increase of 15% year-on-year.
Not only will the VITM 2017 provide thousands of promotional tour packages and low-cost air tickets, it will also bring the best opportunities to foreign tour operators and providers to promote destinations and seek new business deals.
