The special flight, coded VN431, was from South Korea's Seoul City to Da Nang with 155 passengers on board.

The event marked a milestone in VNA's development of international air routes over recent years to the Da Nang International Airport, the largest international air gateway in the central region.

The celebrated flight was also one of the 1st flights of the carrier operating in the new international terminal T2 of the airport, which officially opened on 9 May.

VNA Deputy General Director Trinh Ngoc Thanh remarked that the carrier is now operating a large number of air routes to Da Nang, which has helped the airport become the country's 3rd largest international air gateway after Noi Bai in Ha Noi and Tan Son Nhat in Ho Chi Minh City.

Since 2012, VNA has operated 9 domestic and 14 international flights from/to the Da Nang International Airport to bolster trade, cultural and economic links, as well as to meet the increasing travel demand of local residents and visitors.
