Covering an area of 14,800m2, the 7.45 million USD plant will have a monthly production capacity of 400 tonnes of bread crumbs once it is fully operational.
The Da Nang plant is the 2nd of its kind to have been developed by VFK in Viet Nam after one in Ho Chi Minh City.
Apart from serving domestic consumption, the new plant’s products are exported to Oceania, Europe and North America.
The Da Nang plant now has about 50 employees in total, and it is fully equipped with advanced production lines.
Established in Japan in 1967, VFK has to date expanded its operation into Japan, Thailand and Viet Nam, and it now has a significant market share in producing bread crumbs in the world.
Vice Chairman Minh addressing the event |
Addressing the opening ceremony, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh hoped that, with its rich experience in the food industry, VFK would produce more Japanese-standard products, and create more employment for locals. These, thereby, will partly help to accelerate the city’s economic growth in the coming years.
The city leader also asked VFK to strictly obey the city’s regulations on labour safety, food hygiene and safety, environmental protection and local security. He also vowed that the city authorities would facilitate the company to promote its business activities effectively in the city.
As of last month, Japan had been Da Nang’s largest foreign investor with 141 projects worth 496 million USD in total. Notably, 70% of the Japanese investment capital was poured into the manufacturing and processing sectors.
