The 1,000 CV, over 41m-long, 8.2m-wide ship can operate at a maximum speed of 12.5 nautical miles per hour. In addition, it is capable of storing a total of 350 tonnes of goods and aquatic products.
The large-capacity mother ship was built under the national government-issued Decree No 67/2014/ND-CP regarding fisheries development policies which allows Vietnamese fishermen to access preferential bank loans to build new boats.
The large-capacity mother ship was built at a cost of over 31 billion VND. Of this, 29.5 billion VND was loaned from the city’s branch of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Viet Nam (Vietcombank) at a preferential interest rate in line with the Decree, whilst the remainder came from Mr Tuan’s family.
DNa 90999 will be mainly involved in offering fisheries support services in the Truong Sa traditional fishing grounds. In particular, the ship will buy the seafood caught at sea directly from boats operating here, and supply fuel and necessary provisions to offshore fishermen.
