The city has also selected a total of 64 resorts and hotels as accommodation for deputies, business people and journalists during AELW.
The Deputy Director of the city’s Tourism Department, Mr Tran Chi Cuong, said at a recent press conference that a total of 68 local restaurants and 14 shopping centres had also been chosen to serve APEC delegates.
He said 30 training courses in hospitality, cuisine and conduct had been held for resorts, hotels and restaurants from early this year. He added the Department, in cooperation with the Thua Thien-Hue and Quang Nam provinces, would host free tours for all APEC delegates to 6 destinations. They are the UNESCO-recognised world heritage Hue Monument Complex, the Marble Mountains Tourist Area, the Ba Na Hills Resort, the Museum of Cham Sculpture, Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park and night-time sightseeing tours on the Han River.
The Department also opened a total of 3 tourism promotion booths at the International Media Centre for AELW.
At the press conference, the Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, Mr Huynh Duc Tho, said the city would give days off to pupils from some schools and public servants to ease traffic on the opening and closing days of the event.
AELW, being held in Da Nang for the first time, will host a total of 15,000 delegates, journalists, businesspeople and CEOs from the 21 member economies.
