The municipal Department of Tourism has instructed local hotels to serve AELW in terms of accommodation, security, food safety and services.

A total of 6 tours will be offered to international journalists arriving in the city to report about the Week, namely the Marble Mountains Tourist Area- the Museum of Cham Sculptures, the Ba Na Hills Resort, the Marble Mountains Tourist Area – Hoi An, Da Nang – Hue Citadel, the Nui Than Tai Hot Springs Park, and sightseeing boat tours on the Han River.

In addition, video clips have been made to promote local tourism, plus 3 kiosks displaying tourism handbooks in the International Media Centre.  The ‘Da Nang Smile’ campaign is now progressing well across the city.

Local travel agencies, hotels and the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula were instructed not to organise tours to this site during the APEC Summit Week from 2-11 November.

Besides preparations for the international large-scale event in terms of infrastructure facilities and human resources, local hospitality training establishments have been asked to enhance professional skills for staff members from resorts, restaurants and hotels.  A total of about 13,500 people involved in the hospitality sector will serve guests during the Week.

AELW is expected to bring together heads of state and a total of about 10,000 delegates from the 21 APEC member economies.
