On Thursday, the BRG and Marriott International from the US officially inaugurated the Sheraton Grand Danang Resort at 35 Truong Sa in Ngu Hanh Son District’s Hoa Hai Ward.

The 5-star resort has two 6-storey hotel blocks in which the blocks I and II feature 130 and 128 suites and rooms respectively.  Most notably, the block II is equipped with landing area for helicopters, plus Ambassador and Presidential suites with their private elevators.

The world-class resort features a total of 7 restaurants and bars, offering a wide range of Vietnamese and international cuisines.

It comprises more than 3,300m² of indoor function space with 14 conference and meeting rooms.  Amongst them is the spacious Grand Ballroom equipped with advanced technology which is suitable for organising large-scale events.

Last November, the resort was selected by Vietnamese State President Tran Dai Quang to host a Gala dinner to serve the Leaders of 21 APEC economies during the APEC Economic Leaders' Week.

In his remarks at the grand inauguration ceremony, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Ngoc Tuan said “The focus is on developing the city’s tourism into a spearhead economic sector with the aim of reaching an annual growth rate of up to 20% in the number of visitors.  The operation of the world-class Sheraton Grand Danang Resort will play a significant role in realising our city’s goal”.

The city leader hoped BRG and Marriott International to continue pouring more their money into the city.  He also vowed that the local authorities would create very favorable conditions for the two US groups to operate effectively in the city.
