Extended section of Nguyen Tat Thanh Street opens to traffic
A 3.2km extended section of Da Nang’s coastal Nguyen Tat Thanh Street was opened to traffic on Thursday morning.

The four-lane section with a length of 15m begins in Hoa Lien Commune’s Van Duong Village, and ends at its intersection with the Hai Van-Tuy Loan ring road in the commune’s Tan Ninh Village.
As part of the ongoing large-scale Da Nang Sustainable Development Project, the extension costs over 153 billion VND (6.6 million US$), funded by ODA loans from the World Bank and the city budget.
The extended section’s construction units are the Trung Nam Engineering and Construction Joint Stock Company and Dong Me Kong Construction Manufacture Trading Service Company Limited.
Australian company Sinclair Kinght Merz is the project’s designer, whilst TPF Getinsa Euroestudios from Spain and SCE from France are the consultants and supervisors.

In his remarks at the opening ceremony for the new section, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Tuan highlighted the extended section’s strategic role in considerably promoting the progress of the city’s northwestern part and its neighbouring areas.
Accordingly, the freshly-opened section shortens the travel time between the city centre and its northwestern areas to only 11 km from 23 km. In addition, it helps to create close connections with such the city’s key projects as the hi-tech and dedicated IT parks, and the Golden Hills City eco-urban area.
