Themed “ASEAN-The Power of One”, the forum looked to realise an ASEAN of “One Vision, One Identity, One Community”.

This year’s event brought together around 2,000 delegates in total from national tourism agencies of the ASEAN countries, the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), and international travel companies, tourism media outlets, UNESCO, National Geographic, and other organisations.

ATF 2019 featured ASEAN Tourism Ministers Meeting, ASEAN+3 Tourism Ministers Meeting, ASEAN-India Ministers Meeting and ATF Travel Exchange 2019 (Travex 2019).

As part of the ATF 2019, Travex 2019 attracted the participation of a total of 346 pavilions of airlines, travel agencies, hotels, all-leveled tourism promotion agencies in the ASEAN member states.

In particular, a 36m2 pavilion jointly owned by Da Nang and the provinces of Thua Thien Hue and Quang Nam highlighted outstanding products and services from a total of 12 businesses in their localities.

In related news, Viet Nam has won a total of 15 ASEAN tourism awards in 4 categories, namely Community Based Tourism, Homestay, Spa Services, and Public Toilet Services.

Noticeably, the Da Nang-located Cham Spa and Massage was honoured in the Spa Services category.

The ATF, established in 1981, is a regional effort to promote ASEAN as one tourist destination.

The annual event involves all the tourism industry sectors of the 10 member states.

Each year, hosting duties are rotated among the member countries.
