In response to Da Nang’s key campaign ‘2018: The Year of Investment Promotion’, the Cam Le District authorities took effective ways last year to promote their local socio-economic development.

In detail, many investment projects totalling hundreds of billions of VND were implemented across the district.

Specifically mentioned were a 30 billion-VND entertainment and sport complex project for children in Hoa Xuan Ward, a 130 billion VND tourism and commercial complex along the Hoa Xuan River, a 70 billion VND Co.opmart supermarket, and the over 60 billion VND Nhat Linh and tourism product introduction and vocational training centre.

Noticeably, a joint venture between the Central Group and NewTechco spent hundreds of billions of VND on 3 projects: the La Huong organic vegetable growing area, the Phong Bac 4 residential area in Hoa Tho Dong Ward, and a high-class service complex on the southern side of the Cam Le Bridge in Hoa Xuan Ward.

Over the past year, the district authorities invited some potential investors to seek investment opportunities in such aspects as cuisine, entertainment, sports and high-quality education in their locality.

In addition to the above-mentioned large projects, the private economic sector recorded numerous remarkable results.

In particular, last year saw a sharp increase in the number of businesses operating in the district. As of late December 2018, more 900 enterprises were established and put into operation in the locality, up 18.1% compared with the same period last year. Around 1,200 households were granted business registration licences, a rise of 19.3% against 2017.

“The positive results above are mainly attributed to the district leaders’ active engagement in meeting with investors and appealing to them for the Hoa Cam Industrial Park, as well as introducing them to their local preferential policies and approved vacant land funds”, Mr Pham Nam Son, Vice Chairman of the district People’s Committee underlined.

Mr Son added the focus was on accelerating administrative reform and enhancing business and investment environment.
