City ready to welcome visitors for Tet celebration
With only a few days left to the much-awaited Lunar New Year (Tet) festival, a large number of travel agencies, hotels, resorts, and tourist sites across Da Nang have made good preparations to welcome visitors from both home and abroad.

The Saigontourist Travel Agency Da Nang Branch has organised many special tours in a bid to attract even more visitors.
Noticeably, under the landmark ‘Golden Week’ event, a discount of 10 million VND per person is now given to those who book tours to Southeast Asia, Malaysia – Singapore, and New York American-Philadelphia - Washington DC - Las Vegas - Universal Studios - Los Angeles.
Likewise, the city’s branch of Vietravel has launched numerous promotion programmes running from 15 January to 20 February.
Expressing deep gratitude to customers, Vitours is offering a special promotion programme, entitled “Central Heritage Journey - Perfect Link”, featuring the allure of Golden Bridge and the Hoi An Memory.
According to the municipal Tourism Department, most 4 and 5-star hotels will organise buffet and countdown parties to ring in the Lunar New Year.
The Sheraton Grand Danang Resort, for instance, is treating its clients with highly-inviting buffet lunches from 1 to 10 February, with 30 traditional delicious Vietnamese dishes.
The Novotel Danang Hotel, one of the largest in the city, has already debuted its special musical programme highlighting the joyful and jubilant Tet ambience from 1 January until 10 February.
Visitors to the Sun World Ba Na Hills Resort will participate in the Tulip Festival, which is running until 10 February.
Accordingly, a total of more than 1 million colorful tulips will be showcased, reaching full bloom in a brilliant scenic setting for the upcoming Tet break.
In a similar vein, the Spring Flower Festival at the tourist-packed Sun World Da Nang Wonders Park from 5 until late February is expected to grasp the public attention.
A ceremony will take place at the Marble Mountains Tourist Area to welcome and give gifts to visitors on the first days of the Tet break.
The ‘Colours of Year of the Pig 2019’ exhibition, entitled ‘Colours of Year of the Pig 2019’, is taking place at the Da Nang-based Fine Arts Museum, 78 Le Duan Street, until 14 February.
On display are a total of over 50 works by 18 local painters, highlighting oil paints to synthetic charcoal, watercolours, wood carving, and more. Most of the displayed paintings take the inspiration from the pig because 2019 is Year of the Pig. In addition, there are paintings showcasing the beauty of women and spring flowers.
Mr Nguyen Xuan Binh, the Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Tourism , said, focus has been on ensuring food safety and hygiene, environmental sanitation and the safety of visitors arriving in the city before, during and after Tet, hereby bringing great comfort to tourists during their stay in this beautiful seaside city.
