The Singaporean partners are Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF), Sakae Holdings Ltd, and Surbana Jurong Group.
The Singaporean partners will make a joint coordination to implement 3 pillars in promoting the city’s urban construction and development, namely adjustments to the master urban plan for the city’s progress by 2030, with a vision towards 2050; socio-economic development strategies by 2030, with a vision towards 2045; and the promotion of Singapore - Da Nang investment cooperation.
Director of the municipal Department of Construction Vu Quang Hung affirmed that Singapore has been still a good model for many urban areas worldwide to learn from, and Da Nang is no exception. It is noticeable that Singapore shares similarities with Da Nang in geography, climate patterns, and development scale.
In regard to the adjustments to the master plan, Hung said, the city needs a helping hand from the international consultants to propose an optimal urban development scenario which features many new and highly feasible ideas for the sake of Da Nang’s growth.
Above all, the focus will be on realising the Politburo’s new resolution on the city’s development for 2030 with a vision toward 2045, on developing Da Nang towards the direction of becoming a green, modern-smart, global city with unique identity.
Accordingly, in terms of urban structure, besides the task of developing itself into a modern, smart city, Da Nang must develop in harmony with the preservation and development of natural sea - river - mountain structures.
In terms of the urban development model, importance will be attached to fostering the redevelopment of ‘compact city’ model, in tandem with the promotion of technical and social infrastructure.
Also, it is necessary to focus on solving issues related to climate change and sea level rise, flooding, and land subsidence in urban areas, and other issues of deep concern.
As for socio-economic development strategies, emphasis will be on designing new, green growth models in which the Singapore partners boasts rich experience.
