Thai budget carrier to offer daily Da Nang-Bangkok direct flights in April
AirAsia announced on Monday that it would begin offering direct flights between Da Nang and Thailand’s Chiang Mai on 12 April.
This is the exclusive route connecting Da Nang, the largest city in Central Viet Nam, and Chiang Mai, the largest city on the northern side of Thailand, reinforcing AirAsia's commitment in expanding its flight network to Viet Nam, and Southeast Asia as a whole.
The Thai budget carrier will conduct seven round-trips per week on the route. Tickets can now be booked at a promotional fare, from over 800,000 VND (34.46 USD) per one-way fare (excluding taxes and fees) from now until 10 March at www.airasia.com and via all ticketing channels for flights from 12 April to 26 October.
The first direct flight from Chiang Mai to Da Nang will take off on 12 April. The flight will depart from Chiang Mai International Airport at 8.00am, and arrive in Da Nang at 9.45am (local time), whilst the return flight will take off at 10.15am (local time) from Da Nang, and land in Chiang Mai at noon.
The soon-to-be-launched direct flights between Da Nang and Chiang Mai will open up the opportunity for the seaside city to further exploit the Thai tourist market, as well as to facilitate travellers in the city to easily fly to Chiang Mai without moving to Ho Chi Minh City or Ha Noi.
Currently, AirAsia is operating direct flights between Da Nang and Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur.
