Diversified gift market for Women's Day

In these days leading to the International Women’s Day (8 March), many flower and gift shops, plus supermarkets, across Da Nang have launched numerous attractive promotions and exciting events in order to stimulate sales for this special day.

At this time, the purchasing power of fresh flowers at local shops is increasing sharply.

Many flower shops which are located at the Han Market, and along such major streets as Tran Phu, Trung Nu Vuong, and Dong Da, are offering different kinds of flowers.

Many flower vases and baskets are being offered at the prices between 200,000 VND and millions of VND each, depending on the types of flowers and sizes of baskets.

According to an owner of the Duc Phan Flower Shop on Dong Da, the shop has seen a significant increase in the consumption of all types of flowers. The retail price of a flower basket now ranges between 250,000 VND and 1.5 million VND.

Currently, the wholesale price of a bunch of fresh flowers fluctuates between 110,000 VND and 120,000 VND, up by 40,000 VND compared with normal days.

Likewise, many shops selling teddy bears and handmade souvenirs nearby universities and junior colleges have been crowded with male buyers.

In addition to flowers, cosmetics, clothes, and shoes are amongst the best-selling items on this special day.

Ms Le Thi Ha My, the owner of the Yves Rocher Shop in the Indochina Building on Bach Dang street, said that in recent days the purchasing power of cosmetics products at her shop has gone up by between 15% and 25% compared with normal days.

“In order to increase the consumption, my shop is offering many small gift packages at reasonable prices of between 100,000 VND and 350,000 VND each, as well as providing a 30% discount on such products as shower gel, shampoo, and lipsticks” she added.

Meanwhile, some trading centers and supermarkets, including Vincom, BigC, and Co.opmart, are offering a variety of gift baskets which are packed with shampoos, skin and body care products, cosmetics, fashionable clothes, or kitchen utensils.

The Co.opmart Supermarket is giving up to 49% off for its clothes, household appliance, and cosmetic products. Moreover, this retailer adds reward points for its loyal female customers, presents gift vouchers and other gifts for them on 7 and 8 March.

A variety of attractive promotion programmes have been launched by many entertainment areas, resorts, and restaurants such as the Asia Park, the Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park, and the Danang Vinpearl Condotel Riverfront.
