The event was attended by representatives from the Kyushu Economic Association, the Kyushu International Economic Cooperation Organisation, the Fukuoka Chamber Of Commerce and Industry, and many businesses across the city.
In his remarks at the seminar, Vice Chairman Chinh introduced his Japanese guests to Da Nang’s great potential and strengths, plus its preferential policies for foreign investors. All these advantages of the city will lay firm foundation for expanding cooperative relations with the Kyushu Economic Federation.
He added currently, Japan is ranking the first in the number of projects in the city with a total of 170 projects, and second for the total registered investment capital of 678.9 million USD.
The majority of the Japanese-invested projects have maintained stable growth in recent years, and they have played a vital role in helping Da Nang train high-quality human resources, and diversify and enhance the competitiveness of its own products in a bid to promote the city’s socio-economic development.
During the event, many Japanese investors spoke highly of the seaside city’s investment environment.
Director of the VCC company Saito Masayuki noted Da Nang is very inviting for investors from both home and abroad thanks to its rapid growth rate, modern infrastructure and human resources.
He, however, pointed out some shortcomings that administrative procedures have been still complicated, whilst Da Nang International Airport has been facing passenger overload.
Mr Masayuki also emphasised that the city has been facing a shortage of high-ranking human resources and development links with neighbouring localities.
It is known that the Kyushu economic zone consists of 7 provinces with a total population of 13.2 million people. It has great potential for the development of processing, automobile and semiconductor manufacturing, biotechnology, and waste treatment industries.
