Since 2006, the Sai Gon-Da Nang Investment Corporation (SDN) has been the developer of the city-based Lien Chieu and expanded Hoa Khanh IPs.

Thanks to the great efforts of SDN leaders in effectively implementing investment attraction activities, the expanded Hoa Khanh IP is now home to assembling automobile and manufacturing components plants, like Vietnam TCIE, TC Motor, Seto and Kamui.

On 3 April, SDN leased over 4.7ha of land at the  expanded Hoa Khanh IP to the Phu Thuan Toan Industry Co., Ltd. for building a 7 million US$ plant for manufacturing automotive exhaust systems.

The Phu Thuan Toan Industry Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary company of the Taiwan-based HAOHSING Industrial Co. Ltd, which specialises in manufacturing automobile and motorcycle exhaust systems with an annual production capacity of more than 500,000 units.

Specifically, a group of visitors from the Korea Auto Industries Coop. Association (KAICA) had a working session with SDN with the aim of learning about cooperative and investment opportunities at the 2 IPs.

Recently, the Viet Nam Association of Financial Investors (VAFI) rented 2.1ha of land at the expanded Hoa Khanh IP in order to construct a 5 million US$ plant for manufacturing automotive air, oil and fuel filters for cars.

In addition, a large number of foreign businesses, including those from Japan, such as Yusen Logistics, Logitem Viet Nam and Nippon Konpo have been operating effectively in the expanded Hoa Khanh IP.

To date, the expanded Hoa Khanh IP has attracted hundreds of businesses with total registered capital of 258 million USD in FDI and 1,185 billion VND in domestic investment.

Last year, FDI businesses at the IP earned 68.4 million USD from revenue, and contributed over 27 million USD to the city budget. Meanwhile, domestic enterprises earned 83.63 billion VND and contributed more than 4 billion VND to the city budget.

Meanwhile, the occupation rate of the rental space at the Hoa Khanh and Da Nang Seafood Services IPs is 100% with 187 businesses investing in 199 projects in total.

Mr Le Hoang Duc, the Deputy Head of the Authority of the Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Parks, said local IPs has attracted a total of 575 projects. In 2018 alone, they together contributed to over 858,000 billion VND to the city’s budget.

He added, in the coming time, special attention would be paid to encouraging businesses operating in IPs to use eco-industrial models to replace their out-of-date technologies and machines with new ones.
