In the first quarter of this year, the total volume of cargo transported through the Da Nang Port hit over 2 million tonnes, up 18.33% against the same period of last year.

In detail, there were 507,000 tonnes of imported products, 823,000 tonnes of exported items, 782,000 tonnes of domestically produced goods and 1.3 million tonnes of container cargo. 

In March alone, the volume of cargo handled through the port recorded a remarkable growth with 757,000 tonnes in total, an increase of 24.2% against the previous month, and up 37.47% against the same period of last year. Of this, imports reached 182,000 tonnes, exports with 297,000 tonnes, domestically-produced goods 278,000 tonnes, and container cargo 460,000 tonnes.

The port has set its targets of handling 9 million tonnes of cargo by the end of this year, including 390,000 TEUs on container ships, and earning 725 billion VND in revenue, and 210 billion VND in pre-tax profits.
