South Korean businesspeople learn about the city's investment environment
On Thursday afternoon, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Ho Ky Minh warmly received a group of businesspeople from South Korea, led by Mr Park Dong Min, Vice Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).
Mr Park Dong Min said the delegation included representatives from 28 businesses involving IT, computer development, refrigeration, cosmetics, paint and retail distribution.
The South Korean guests remarked the purpose of this visit was to learn about the city’s investment climate and its preferential policies for foreign investors, as well as to seek partners for their future cooperation projects.
In reply, Vice Chairman Minh applauded the visit of the Korean guests, affirming South Korea was an important partner of Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole in the aspects of politics, foreign affairs, economy, culture, and people-to-people exchange.
The host noted in recent years Da Nang has been emerging as the most favourite destination for South Korean tourists.
“In 2018 alone, Da Nang welcomed nearly 1.7 million South Korean visitors, accounting for 58% of the total number of international tourist arrivals to the city. South Korea was the city’s 5th largest import and export market in 2018. Last year, the city's import and export turnover with South Korea reached an estimate of 113 million USD. By the end of 2018, Da Nang attracted more than 150 South Korean-invested projects totalling more than 310 million USD. Currently, South Korea is the city's fourth largest foreign investor”, Mr Minh revealed.
Vice Chairman Minh said the municipal authorities are rolling out the red carpet for foreign visitors, including those from South Korea, to the city.
He hoped that even more businesses from South Korea would visit and seek investment opportunities in the city in such aspects of manufacturing and processing industries, hi-tech, information technology, and high quality services.
