Around 3.9 million tons of cargo transported through Da Nang Port in 5 months
Between January and May, the total volume of cargo transported through the Da Nang Port reached around 3.9 million tonnes, up 18% against the same period of last year.
This figure included 168,500 TEUs on container ships, a rise of 23% against 2018, 877,000 tonnes of imported products, 1,616,000 tonnes of exported items, and 1,387, 000 tonnes of domestically produced goods.
This positive result was mainly attributed to the great efforts of the Port’s leaders in upgrading its infrastructure, and effectively carrying out port operation and logistics activities.
The port paid special attention to handling large container ships, cruise ships, and cargo ships.
In addition, the focus was on building Container Freight Station (CFS) bonded warehouses and goods distribution centres in order to promote the development of door-to-door sea transport services in accordance with the orientation of the Viet Nam National Shipping Lines (Vinalines).
