Da Nang secured its top position in the Viet Nam ICT Index 2019, the ranking on the readiness for information and communications technology (ICT) development and applications. This is the 11^th consecutive year that the city has taken the lead in the ranking.

The result was announced by the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications at the 23^rd Viet Nam ICT Development conference held in Phu Yen Province this morning (23 August).

The city scored 0.8654 points on the 1-point scale, followed by Thua Thien-Hue Province with 0.8046, and Quang Ninh with 0.7350.

The Viet Nam ICT Index 2019 is structured following the United Nations standard, which consists of 4 main components: technical infrastructure, manpower infrastructure, IT applications and online public services.

Da Nang topped the technical infrastructure criterion with 0.7925 points, whilst Ba Ria-Vung Tau took second place with 0.7125.

As for the terms of manpower infrastructure and IT applications, Da Nang was ranked 2^nd places with 0.9538 and 0.85 points respectively behind Thua Thien Hue with 0.9578 and 0.9062.

Meanwhile, it finished in 4^th place in terms of the online public services, after the provinces of Thua Thien Hue, Quang Ninh and Tien Giang respectively.
