Promoting exchanges and cooperative ties with Japan
The Global Talent and Business Meet-up 2019 was jointly organised in Da Nang on Saturday afternoon by the Viet Nam Union of Science and Technology Associations and Japan-based Ehle Institute Japanese Language School.

In his remarks at the event, Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Dang Viet Dung said that the event is of great significance in promoting the time-honoured friendship and extensive strategic partnership between the 2 countries, strengthening bilateral people-to-people exchanges, and boosting the cooperative ties in science and technology, education, and job creation for the youths.
Japan is now Da Nang’s largest foreign investor with about 180 projects totalling more than 800 million US$, accounting for 24% of the city’s total FDI capital.
The Japanese-invested projects are mainly involved in such aspects as manufacturing and processing, information technology, science and technology, tourism and services.
At the event, the participants were introduced to the city’s existing investment environment and its future investment attraction orientations.
Besides, representatives of Japanese-invested businesses briefed the participants on the implementation progress and potentials of their projects in the city. In particular, they spoke highly of the great efforts made by the city authorities in making the business environment more effective.

On this occasion, a total of more than 100 students from Da Nang-based universities of Science and Technology, Foreign Language Studies, Duy Tan and Dong A Universities, plus the Hue University of Science participated in discussions about potential opportunities to study and work in Japan, as well as grasped information about bilateral education and employment cooperation programmes between Japan with Da Nang, and with Viet Nam as a whole.
Earlier on Saturday morning, within the framework of the Global Talent and Business Meet-up 2019, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs-organised meeting offered the opportunity for such central Vietnamese localities as Da Nang, Quang Ngai, and Binh Dinh to advertise their development potentials and investment attraction orientations to businesses from Japan’s Kansai Economic Federation.
