Also, these retailers are launching many attractive promotional programmes and home delivery in order to satisfy the demand of consumers and stimulate consumption in the city.

Mr Nguyen Quang Dung, Director of the city branch of the Lotte Viet Nam Co., Ltd., said his supermarket is offering its online shopping services through its website at speedl.vn.  Besides, the Lotte mart is launching sales programmes, with up to 10% discount on their services and products.

“In addition to stockpiled goods, our supermarket has closely worked with our suppliers in order to ensure enough food and essential items for local residents. Most notable are daily necessities and protective items such as rice, instant noodles, meat, fish, eggs, milk, vegetables, spices, hand sanitiser, and hand wipes”, Director Dung remarked.

The city-based Co.opmart supermarket has spent over 20 billion VND on stockpiling goods to ensure the supply of food and consumer goods over the next couples of months. Also, shoppers can place their orders over the Co.opmart hotline 0236 3771888.

The BigC Mall is offering a free delivery service for orders valued at 200,000 VND and more within the distance of 10km from its shoppers over its helpline 0236 3666085/ 0919194555.

In order to ensure the supply of face masks amid the growing concerns over coronavirus, workers of many textiles and garments companies, and medical face mask manufacturers, in the city have worked very hard to accelerate production to meet the growing demand from local residents.

Ms Hoang Thuy Oanh, Deputy General Director of the Hoa Tho Textiles and Garments JSC, remarked, as of 9 March, more than one million two-layer antibacterial cloth masks had been available for sale at the company’s stores across the city at the stable prices of 7,000 VND each. The company is imposing a limit of 10 face masks per customer per its store in order to prevent some people from buying more than they need.

Being the largest medical face mask manufacturer in the city, the Danameco Medical Joint Stock Corporation has asked its workers to work 3 shifts a day over recent months in order to enhance the production capacity of face masks and protective clothes to satisfy the increasing demand of residents.

Mr Vo Anh Duc, Business Director of the Company, said his company has been facing difficulties in sourcing raw materials to produce filter which is the most important part of the masks. The main reason is that the company’s filter suppliers are in China where has been heavily affected by the epidemic. He, also, said that his company is seeking new suppliers from Japan to ensure smooth production.
