Da Nang to host Blockathon 2020's official round in Sept.

The ‘Infinity Blockathon for City Transformation 2020’ competition is taking place from July to November 2020. Noticeably, the competition’s official round will be held in Viet Nam’s 3 biggest cities, namely Da Nang, Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City, in September.

Co-organsied by the Infinity Blockchain Ventures (IBV) and the Asia Blockchain Review (ABR), the competition takes the theme ‘City Transformation for the New Normal’.

The event is open to tech and innovation community of developers, students & researchers, and start-ups across Viet Nam.

Blockathon 2020 focuses on the 3 categories: Supply Chain, Finance and Government. Subject matters are real-life problems and be given by top corporates in aforementioned categories.

The deadline to submit your entries is 28 August 2020. The Blockathon Run- the competition’s official round, will take place in Da Nang, Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City in September and its the Grand Final will be held in November.

The competition aims to foster and gather ideas and solutions from the participants  for the topic of City Transformation, with the support of the stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem, including incubators, investors and corporations in Viet Nam and foreign countries.

In detail, Blockathon 2020 encourages creativity and innovation through a Crowdsourcing method – one of the most effective methods to collect ideas, technology solutions from different and fresh perspectives to resolve organisational and community problems.

Besides, the competition connects organisations of Viet Nam’s national government, businesses operating in the country with the community of technology and innovation and human resources so as to approach extraordinary ideas as well as turn creative ideas into reality.

Blockathon 2020’s Advisors come from highly-reputed partners, namely the New Zealand Trade & Enterprise, the Banking Training School – State Bank of Viet Nam and the Ministry of Justice.

Meanwhile, Mentors and Judges are from experienced and highly-reputed firm/corporation/organisations, including Infinity Blockchain Labs (IBL), KPMG, TMA Innovation Center, NexTech, Hatto, 500 Startups, Zone Startups, TopDev, 2359 Media, Schoolab, VIISA, Innolab Asia, Songhan Incubator and Tomochain.

The winner of Blockathon 2020 will receive 10.000 US$ in prize money.

Also, the winning team will have a chance to receive a transfer trip to Canada through ‘Next Big Idea Viet Nam’.
