Solar-powered fast-charging station for electric vehicles put into operation
A solar-powered fast-charging station for electric vehicles (EVs), the first of its kind in Da Nang, was put into operation on Saturday at the PVOIL petrol station on Le Van Hien Street, Khue My Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District.
The EVs fast-charging station was jointly developed by the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) and the PetroVietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL), a subsidiary of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group.
Manufactured by the Central Power Center Electronic Measurement Equipment Manufacturing Centre (CPCEMEC), the station boasts a capacity of 13.86 kWp. Its main component consists of 36 solar panels totalling 385 kWp and a 12 kW three-phase grid-connected inverter. In particular, the system is integrated with QR code payment on Mobile Banking.
There’s no denying that not only does this new model help traditional petrol stations considerably save on their monthly electricity costs, but it also promotes the application of smart grid technologies and the use of clean energy for the sake of the environmental protection.
