The Da Nang Startup and Innovation Festival (SURF 2020), the biggest annual international startup conference and exhibition in Central Viet Nam, is slated to take place next month.
Conference, Exhibition, Business, Investment Connection Programme, Startups Pitching Competition, Networking Night and many other connection activities will be put on the agenda of SURF 2020.
Each entrant will be required to create a virtual booth in the form of a 3D model, applying virtual reality technology VR360. This online booth must display the name, the logo, highly inviting images, videos and necessary documents on the entry.
In particular, this much-awaited event will use Da Nang-developed virtual reality platform vrFairs which boast high quality and reliability.
SURF 2020 is expected to offer the chance for the ‘made in Da Nang’ technology to be introduced to the startup community at home and overseas.
In addition to innovations in organising virtual exhibitions, new municipal government-released startup support policies are expected to come into effect next year.
In particular, under an already-approved project to build Da Nang into a national-level innovation startup hub in the Central Viet Nam and Central Highlands regions, the priority will be given to building Da Nang
Angel Investment Network connecting business entrepreneurs with Angel Investors, issuing more effective startup support mechanisms and policies, and attracting talents from both home and overseas to set up businesses in Da Nang.
Under the Politburo-issued Resolution No 43-NQ/TW regarding the Da Nang’s development to 2030 with a vision to 2045 dated 24 January, 2016, developing Da Nang into a modern-smart, ecological and global city, and turning the city into a centre for entrepreneurship and innovation in Asia is one of the most prominent targets. Based on that, innovative start-up is identified as a major driver of the city’s growth.
Besides, over recent years, the city has seen the debut of many business incubators, innovation centres and co-working spaces.
In addition, recent commencement on the about 704 billion VND Da Nang Software Park No 2, which facades onto Nhu Nguyet Street, Thuan Phuoc Ward, Hai Chau District is on its mission to drive the development of the software industry to ‘fly high and far’.
The new development is highly expected to speed up innovation, research and development (R&D) activities by supporting technology startups, attracting talented domestic and foreign entrepreneurs, and bringing highly feasible startup ideas to fruition, hereby facilitating the local economy to thrive considerably in the time ahead.
