Over recent years, Son Tra District has been dubbed the most crowded tourist place in Da Nang thanks to an abundance of natural beauty throughout like a rich coastline or a wild Son Tra Peninsula teeming with an array of species.

In addition to preserving the beautiful landscapes, the Son Tra District authorities have prioritised protecting green, clean and beautiful marine environment in a bid to make the district a more beautiful and attractive tourist place in the eyes of tourists.

For many years, a wide range of highly inviting activities have been organised across the district to raise public awareness about marine environmental protection. Included are the ‘Joining efforts in protecting the country's sea and islands’, and ‘Green, Clean and Beautiful Sundays’ movements.

Additionally, clean-up activities have been carried out along Da Nang beaches, such as picking up litter and debris and dredging sewers. As a result, the environmental hygiene along the district’s coastal line has been ensured.

Most recently, the heavy rains associated with recent storms have left beaches in the district filthy with a large amount of trash. In a rush, an environmental cleanup drive with the involvement of crews and residents has taken in a bid to help the beaches retain their original charm.

On 29 and 30 October, over 500 tonnes of waste, including branches, firewood, and used plastic, piling up on beaches stretching along the Vo Nguyen Giap - Hoang Sa - Truong Sa coastal route were completely collected.

In an effort to ensure the beach tourism environment, staff of the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches have been in charge of reminding beach-goers not to throw litter on beaches. Besides, strict fines have been imposed on violations relating to littering on beaches.

Many trash bins have been placed along beaches with the purpose of asking tourists to put their rubbish out correctly.
