Despite unfavourable weather conditions, flower growers across Da Nang have been gearing up their production in preparation for the upcoming Tet Festival, which will fall on 12 February 2021.

In recent days, farmers in such flower growing villages as Van Duong in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Lien Commune, Duong Son in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Chau Commune, and Hoa Phat in Cam Le District have been busy taking care of their products in a bid to offer the best to their customers in the upcoming Tet Festival.

Recent hash weather conditions have directly affected plant growth and development. However, thanks to farmers’ careful care, different kinds of flowers such as chrysanthemums, crystal daisies and marigolds are still growing well.

Farmer Phan Thanh Ha from the Van Duong flower village said, like other flower growers, he had to regularly check and prevent pests as well as take proactive measures to cope with any unfavourable weather patterns in order to ensure that his Tet flowers can be in full blossom in time at Tet as planned.

He hoped that his flowers would reach full bloom for the upcoming Tet, and they can be sold out before the Lunar New Year’s Eve.

Likewise, over 4,000 chrysanthemum pots are growing well in a garden owned by Mr Do Ba Huy residing in Cam Le District’s Hoa Phat Ward.

The male farmer plans to hire about 40 seasonal workers to prune and cut off flower buds in an effort to offer the best products to their customers in the upcoming holiday.

This year, flower farmers focus on growing such traditional kinds of flowers as chrysanthemum, lilies and dahlias.
