Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved the amending and supplementing of a number of articles in Decision No 844 / QD-TTg dated 18 May, 2016 on the National Innovative Startup Ecosystem Support Project by 2025.

Firstly, focus will be on building a system of innovation centres to support research and development (R&D) and creative startups, in tandem with ensuring their successful operation with specific, outstanding and highly competitive mechanisms and policies to make sure that they will be on par with other regionally and internationally leveled ones.

In particular, the green light will be given to developing national creative start-up support centres in Viet Nam’s three largest cites: Ha Noi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City, and building innovative startup facilities at national government ministries and agencies.

Secondly, it is a need to develop a national network of innovative startups and encourage more interaction amongst resources in the system of innovative startup centers across Viet Nam, and actors in innovative startup ecosystems at home and abroad.

By 2025, there will have been international cooperation programmes in at least five innovative startup ecosystems.

With a vision to 2030, the national innovation startup ecosystem will have earned a berth in the top 15 emerging ones in the Asia-Pacific region.

The aforementioned amendments will include the concretisation of the formation and development of a national innovative startup network with specific support activities such as developing networks of innovative startup organisations and individuals, investment funds and startup experts.

Heed will be paid to cooperating with international experts and organisations in offering courses on startup skills, organising scientific seminars, promoting technology transfer consultancy, and inviting experts, consultants, successful overseas Vietnamese to make constructive startup proposals.
