Digital transformation for solving real-life problems

Digital transformation is the integration of digital technology into all areas of a business, fundamentally changing how it operates and delivers value to its customers. Recent times have seen many businesses based in Da Nang proactively promote digital transformation to tackle their real-time problems arising from their operations.

Digital transformation proving highly efficient

Recently, a number of IT businesses have made the debut of their own digital products that have risen to fame in the domestic market. Typically, VBPO JSC located in Hai Chau District has developed many digital transformation solutions such as AI Call Center, Accounting 4.0 ACC 4.0, TAIO invoice management software and smart data collection solution AI-Fuel applied in many businesses nationwide.

Mr Tran Manh Huy, the CEO of the VBPO JSC said, “We have developed solutions based on artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, cloud computing and data analytics “made in Viet Nam”. One of the most obvious benefits of digital transformation products is to significantly enhance labour productivity, thereby increasing business efficiency.”

Huy also expressed his ambitious desire to turn VBPO into a ‘unicorn’, a privately held startup company valued at over $1 billion in the future, thus helping promote Da Nang's IT startup ecosystem.

Since 2020, Son Tra District-based Enouvo IT Solutions has developed SMARTOS -Smarter Office Space - a management platform that helps to automate manual tasks, maximize efficiency, and increase member satisfaction.

SMARTOS initially helps to solve some problems that Enouvo Space has faced for the past time. It boast major features such as Booking calendar: Visually see which resources are booked at what times by checking the booking calendar; Member management: Manage members easily and allow the records of extra information, generate monthly member reports; Reports: Get real-time reporting about payments, space usage and bookings; Check-in, check-out member: Allow staff to easily check-in/check-out members to know easily who are currently in the co-working space; Income management: Allow staff/admin users to manage income from bookings, other service fees, or manage expenses easier; and Invoice or billing: Automatically generate invoices for members upon requests.

Businesses joining forces with the city for digital transformation

Nguyen Quang Thanh, the Director of the municipal Department of Information and Communications, said that the city is focusing on building open platforms ready for smart city building in which the creator of digital technology tools plays a very important role.

He added that, the city is now in need of business’ active engagement in ensuring data security for the building of management and administration-themed document system in the city.

In recent years, many digital transformation products “made in Da Nang” have been highly appreciated and won remarkable prizes at domestic and international events.

For instance, smart camera system management software developed by the Da Nang Centre of Integrated Circuits (CENTIC) under the municipal Department of Information and Communications won the Digital Technology Solution Award for Smart City within the framework of the Viet Nam Smart City Award 2020.

Meanwhile, Hai Chau District-based Unitech won the 2020 Viet Nam Digital Transformation Award for its database system and specialised State management software at the district level.

Ph.D Duc Tran, Associate Professor of Computer Science, College of Science and Mathematics-University of Massachusetts - Boston said that the governments of many foreign countries have focused on applying blockchain technology which marks the next step in the Internet’s evolution. In fact, Da Nang boasts great potential for digital transformation by developing this technology, with diverse application aspects such as: corporate record keeping, commodity supply chain traceability and smart tourism.
