According to a recent survey by experts in Da Nang on the level of  professional engagement of local tour guides amid COVID-19 resurgence, out of the total 331 tour guides corresponded, 286, accounting for 92%, said that, in addition to maintaining their main jobs, they are doing side hustles to bring in extra money.

The survey also revealed that professions and occupations chosen by the tour guide as side jobs are real estate brokerage (23.4%), online business (15.4%) and others (16.4%). The profession of selling insurance is also highly selected with the rate of about 14%.

About 30.9% of the guides think that this is high time to look for new jobs, 58.8% still intend to stick with the profession regardless of the virus resurgence, 10.3% chose to return to original professions before working for the tourism industry.

It is known that, according to preliminary statistics, there are currently 4,646 tour guides, accounting for 9.1% of the total tourism human resources.
