A large number of eateries, restaurants and coffee shops in Da Nang began reopening to welcome their guests back on Wednesday morning as COVID-19 rules have been relaxed on certain essential services.

The Da Nang government has allowed drink and food establishments to resume limited dine-in service from 0am on June 9.

Observations from our reporters on Wednesday morning indicated a number of eateries and coffee shops on such streets as Nguyen Cong Tru, Ho Nghinh, Le Van Thu, Yen Bai, Tran Phu, Ho Xuan Huong and Chau Thi Vinh Te across the city reopened but these establishments had a small number of guests.

Ms. Doan Thi Le, the owner of Le Noodle Shop on Le Van Thu Street, Son Tra District said, her shop was ready to reopen on Tuesday evening as the city has begun relaxing its restrictions on certain essential services. She requires her staff to wear face masks and using gloves when serving customers.

"There were a few customers seated in my shop and larger numbers came in to collect take-​aways. However, I was very happy when reopening my shop," said Ms. Le.

Meanwhile, crowders were on coffee shops although these venues reopen at 50 percent capacity and follow other precautions.

Mr. Nguyen Van An, the owner of a coffee shop on Ho Nghinh Street, Son Tra District, said that his shop has closed due to COVID-19, and he now feels very happy to reopen with capacity limits after the Da Nang government gave permission.
