The official website of the national COVID-19 Vaccine Fund at www.quyvacxincovid19.gov.vn has officially been in operation with both Vietnamese and English version, creating an online donation channel for the fund.

When accessing the website, users have to fill out all compulsory information including their full names, phone numbers, email addresses, localities where they live, donation amounts, which city/ province receiving their donations, and their aspiration messages.

In particular, the website also shows off a feature ensuring that donors’ personal information remain anonymous to the public. Afterwards, users should click the ‘Donate Now’ to make a bank transfer or make donations via international payment cards such as Visa and Mastercard.

“All donations from this portal will be transfered directly to the official bank accounts of Fund for Vaccination Prevention of Coronavirus Disease. Your donation will not be refunded”, stated the website.

As of 11:00 a.m. on June 16, the COVID-19 Vaccine Fund had received a total of VND 5,093 billion worth of contributions, including foreign currency converted to Vietnamese dong from 297,000 organisations and individuals at home and abroad.

Established by the Vietnamese government, the COVID-19 vaccine fund aims to receive, manage, and use voluntary financial and vaccine donations and assistance from domestic and foreign organisations and individuals, along with other legal sources, for COVID-19 vaccine procurement and import, research and production in Viet Nam, and the provision of vaccines for the people.

Viet Nam needs 150 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to immunize about 75 million out of the total population of 98 million people at a total estimated cost of more than VND25,000 billion.
