Da Nang’s relevant units are strengthening the practice of safety measures against COVID-19 at the Tho Quang fishing wharf and the Da Nang seafood wholesale market in Tho Quang Ward, Son Tra District in a bid ensuring their normal operation, thus keeping the seafood supply chain for the city stable amid the currently complicated developments of COVID-19.

Previously, on Tuesday night through Wednesday morning, under the guidance of the Son Tra District People's Committee, functional forces took nasal swab samples for COVID-19 testing from a total of 3,401 fishermen, traders and others operating in the Tho Quang fishing wharf and Da Nang seafood wholesale market by the application of pooled samples testing method.

Pooling samples involves mixing several samples together in a “batch” or pooled sample, then testing the pooled sample with a diagnostic test.

Reportedly, one of the “bathes” tested positive for COVID-19.

Besides, 315 residents in the Fish Village Apartment Building1B in Nai Hien Dong Ward, Son Tra District also had their specimens collected for COVID-19 testing following the detection of one positive there.

The contact tracing is underway in a prompt fashion to curb the further spread of the deadly virus.
