Han and Con markets, the largest in Da Nang-inner, re-open with safety measures tightened

Following approval from the Da Nang administration, the Han and Con markets, the largest of their kind in the city-centre have reopened. The resumption of trading at these 2 markets aims to contribute to meeting a surge in public demand for fresh food amid all locals are asked to stay at home, even for food purchase, in line with the ‘shelter-in-place’ mandate.

According to the Con Market’s Authority, only 12 stalls trading in essential goods are allowed to operate. On the morning of August 28, fresh root, tuber and leaf vegetables and shrimps sold out in a short time.

Meanwhile, the Han Market saw the re-operation of 18 stalls selling fish, meat, vegetables and seasonings on the morning of August 28.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh, Head of Han Market Authority, fresh fish and shrimp products on display for sale at this sales point were sourced from Hoi An City in the neighbouring province of Quang Nam. As reported, more than 100 kg of fish and 60 kg of shrimp were sold out.

As for Ngu Hanh Son District, 4 wet markets with the operation of stalls trading in fresh fish, shrimp and meat, are operating well. It is known that food for sale was transported  from Dien Ngoc Ward, Dien Ban Town, Quang Nam Province.

The stall holders operating at the above-mentioned markets have been vaccinated against COVID-19, and all of them must subject to COVID-19 testing for every 3 days.

Shoppers are those working in the authorities of local residential groups or COVID-19 prevention task forces. Before entering the market, all shoppers must have their body temperatures measured and their hand disinfected by the functional force.
