For more than 3 years, HK'House ‘ao dai’ (traditional Vietnamese costume) shop in Da Nang has earned high popularity among hand-embroidered clothing lovers. The humble shop, located at 31 Tran Quy Cap, Hai Chau District, owned by Ms Ho Hoang Hang, offers a varied range of meticulous and enthusiastic hand-embroidered products ranging from ‘ao dai’, linen outfits to T-shirts, pillows, blankets, curtains, hats to face masks.

According to Ms. Hang, the harmonious combination between piecing hand-embroidered arts and ‘ao dai’ designs together creates a charming uniqueness for every single product. Embroidery has existed its very own charm since every handicraft item required different ideas, thread tones, and embroidery techniques.

The most difficult process in hand embroidery is to select right colour combinations to formulate alive and natural pieces of needlework. Embroidery skills on paintings, bags, and masks seem easier  than on ‘ao dai’. It's not an exaggeration to say that each ‘ao dai’ is an artwork carrying the crafter’s meticulousness and gentleness because most of them are made of silk fabrics.

Besides, the variety in the design and pattern of HK'House's hand-embroidered products makes it stand out in the market despite a harsh competition among businesses.

HK'House shop mainly uses 2 lines of natural fibers, silk and linen. In addition to ‘ao dai’, the shop also offers a wide range of embroidered and hand-painted linen fashion products.

According to current prices, the line of hand-embroidered shirts and styled shirts costs VND500,000 - VND1 million per apiece; a hand-embroidered linen dress VND900,000 to VND2 million; a hand-embroidered ‘ao dai’ VND1.5million - VND3 million.
